Hard Anodizing (Type II)

High-Performance Surface Protection with Type III Hard Anodizing – build a dense, wear-resistant oxide layer for extreme durability and friction resistance.

What is Hard Anodizing (Type II)?

Hard anodizing—Type III—is engineered for maximum surface hardness, thickness, and abrasion resistance. This dense anodic layer is ideal for parts subject to heavy wear, friction, or extreme environments. Lubricants like Teflon can be impregnated into the anodized layer to reduce surface friction without sacrificing the integrity of the finish, making it well-suited for aerospace, defense, and precision mechanical components.

The hard anodized surface is hard and dense, it is often used as a wear surface. Lubricants, including fluorocarbons such as Teflon, can be impregnated into the surface to increase the lubricity without affecting the hardness.
