Utilizing state-of-the-art technology and a wealth of experience, RIE is a proven leader in developing coating solutions that provide chemical and corrosion protection, abrasion resistance, heat dissipation, and dry film lubrication for a wide variety of applications.

Most importantly, each step of the coating process is completed in-house –– we do not send your parts out for any portion of the process, allowing us to deliver high-quality solutions to your exact specifications.

Lab Testing

Utilizing our state-of-the-art engineering lab to ensure the highest quality coatings and finishing solutions.

Nondestructive Testing (NDT) plays a critical role in assuring that structural components and systems perform their function in a reliable and cost-effective fashion. These tests are performed in a manner that does not affect the future usefulness of the object or material and allows parts and materials to be inspected and measured without damaging them.

Nondestructive Testing is divided into various methods, each based on a particular scientific principle.

Pretreat

Pretreatment is the single most important step to ensure proper finishing adhesion and ultimately affects the protection and performance of the parts being processed.

RIE will degrease your parts of any oils or other contaminants on them. This is a critical step that ensures the substrate is clean when finishings are applied. We utilize a variety of substrate pretreatment processes. Zinc phosphate and abrasive blasting are all used and prescribed on an individual basis.

Dip Spin

Our 24″ automated Dip Spin Line can process large quantity runs of parts with highly repeatable results.

RIE operates lines that utilize large 24” wide baskets and several “mini” dip spin lines for processing small batch parts. The Dip Spin lines are one of our most utilized tools and process the majority of the parts that come through our doors.

Rack + Spray

RIE hand sprays hundreds of millions of parts annually, using specialized processes for large or specialty parts that can’t be bulk processed. This ensures a high-quality finishing with zero part rejections. 

ZERO PART REJECTION

RIE uses rack and spray washers to deliver smooth, even finishes with zero part rejection. Unlike dip-spun washers—which often stick together and lose up to 50%—our process ensures consistent quality and no lost product. 

LARGE OR SPECIALTY PARTS

Some parts, like double-ended studs and large cylinders, are hand sprayed to avoid thread damage or touch marks. RIE routinely does this for components in the wind, oil, and gas industries.

Curing

RIE utilizes various curing methods to ensure the highest quality applications.

Several belt ovens with multi zone heating and cooling, as well as several large walk-in batch ovens for hand spray items make up our in-house curing process. RIE also offers infrared curing for smaller parts.

PACKAGING

Custom packaging solutions help ensure your parts ship out exactly how you need them.

Once a finishing solution has been applied, we take the extra step by organizing and packaging your parts exactly to your specifications.
