Stopping Bimetal Corrosion

The Problem:

Bimetal corrosion between stainless steel fastener and aluminum frame.

The Solution:

We applied a barrier top coat over the stainless steel fastener. Then, using our research and development lab, we subjected the coating to a salt spray test.

Bare stainless fastener. 260 hours salt spray per ASTM B 117.
